Its time to get organized for next year!! If your planning on racing next year, please post up here. I think i will race 5-6 races next year and its a good time to start planning and getting together a race team for next year. There are alot of us out there so post up so we can figure things out!!!

We also have quite a few people on this site that we should encourage and help start racing next year. Its time for us to give back to the sport and help the new guys out. People that i can think of off hand are Bengt, Adam, chuckie, josh, and a ton more. Let encourage these guys to get out there and start racing. If we can all form a team we can make it easier for everyone as well as represent our club.

Any ideas, comments, or whatever are welcome. I'm willing to organize whatever we decide to do, but lets lay the groundwork for next season.

As much as I want to be out there with you next year Aaron, getting married and buying ahouse is a major priority right now. That being said I REALLY want to try to run some, if not all the solo series next summer, and the 2007 Toyota 200 is really looking like a fun idea...

wow, I wish I could say that I was going to race next year. **** I wish I could have raced this year, but sometimes life changes in one day. I don't know if I can race next year. I'm hoping to get my career started and if I am successful I'll be on probation for a year and can't afford to get hurt. And if any of you know I managed to do that a few times last season. After that probation though..... it's on!

Aaron & Mike, how do you guys manage the withdrawls? I went two months without racing (well one month I did, but was pretty much out to mechanical) and I had to buy a WSMC license.

Next year I am thinking of running WERA instead of CCS. They are suppossed to be changing their format and making it a little easier on the wallet. (which is my main complaint about wera). I plan on running WSMC as well, but probably only select months.

I don't. I live vicariously through my friends that still race or I sit around and ***** about how I haven't raced since December or I talk about the next race I want to do. It sucks pretty much.

Next year I am going to make AFM my priority and want to do the full season. That's a lot of driving, but Tigert does it, and I'll have the vacation saved up. It'll be nice not to race 12 months straight. I plan to still buy a WSMC license for 2007 and maybe just come up on a Sunday morning a few times a year to race just for fun, if the budget allows.

Doing AFM next year will be a lot of fun. The paddock atmosphere is different - everyone camps out, and it's bigger. The SV classes are a lot tougher, so I won't be fighting for podiums, but it'll still be fun just battling with a lot of guys for 6th, 7th, 11th spot. This year is tough because I am putting a lot of pressure on myself to win my 2 classes. Next year I have no expectations, so while winning is great, not winning won't be a let-down.

if i can get enough practice this year, i would love to race next year before i go back to school. I would love to sit down and go over everything that is needed and what i need to do to make it happen.

think'n about racing a handful of the races next year.

do i 'need' to race on race tires? like, could i just go through a few races on my pilot powers and just be a little slower that i otherwise would be?

lol! I don't that that would be fair, setting weight difference aside, just the difference in drag will give me the advantage. :roflmao:

Guess you coud if you wanted too.. I have not raced yet, but I get the feeling it will be pretty crazy off the line.. That's what's holding me back. Think I could run a pretty good pace, but I think I'm a bit of a pu**y when it comes to charging into turn 1 together iwth 20 other crazy fools... If I end up doing it, I would certainly wan to make sure I had the best tires available...

I'll race a handful of times next year probably later in the year. I would love to see some new faces out there. I wouldn't mind doing some pit work for those looking to get started.

It looks like we have quite a few people that want to do this!! I want to race next year, but i don't know if i can commit to a full season.

Looks like we have a few vets as well as some new commers so thats a good thing. Please post up what month you are going to start racing so we can get an idea of when we need to make sure we attend the races, racing r not.

Just a warning january and sometimes feb races are friggin cold!! April is a double points month so that is almost a must!

I have not graduated from novice yet, so i might race feb and march and make my first expert race in April. Anyone else got a plan?

Also i am trying to hit up a bunch of Big willow track days for practice. I would like to offer my services towing anyone around to drop laptimes. I would of course need to be quick enough to do so. Maybe Bryant can tow me around so i can drop my lap times :)

Post up what track days you are able to make for practice! So i am doing the aug 26th day and im signed up for the trackdaz double weekend in November(25&26th). If your able to make it sign up, it would be a great time for everyone to ride together and improve our lines and lap times..

As much as I want to be out there with you next year Aaron, getting married and buying ahouse is a major priority right now.

The housing costs are going down too. I see a lot of people having a hard time selling their house. Who know how long they'll be like that but that's my goal for next year too.

I thought about racing WSMC but its just a huge financial commitment. Plus the fact that I suck at Willow. I want to see Allan do big things on the 06 gixxer. Bengt, Greg, Adam, Mikey, Sean, Deno you guys were tearing it up.

it is a big financial commitment... at first I was just going to spend $ on new tires and try to keep everything stock -- i wasn't looking to win races anyways. But then you have to buy other things too like rearsets, suspension, engine cases, gatorade, ice blah blah blah that I didn't really think about... all that stuff adds up :(

I think I'll just buy an old Ascot and race that (maybe)

Anyways, I'm probably going to be doing the sept races unless the Toyota 200 somehow interferes with that

road racing broke the bank...

racing supermoto is much easier on the wallet.

maybe i'll do some WERA WEST next year too... they have a supermoto class but i need to break the bank again for steering damper, belly pan, and transponder

next year I'm planning on taking a racing break.. I've been doing it non stop for like 3 years straight.. maybe just do the kawi money months or something... most likely I'll just be a trackday whore next year.

I'm down to help out in the pits. Well, I gotta have some experienced person to follow around.

Racing just isn't in my blood, but maybe one day.

I wish I could be racing two weekends per month. I love it!!! But tires, entry fees, gas, hotels, and yearly membership, cost way too much. We all should just do what Jerry and I do sometimes in the A Group at our track days, let everyone leave pit road, then we have Billy the flag guy give us a race start, we blast down to the pit road corner, and then have a fun little 90% battle back and forth for the rest of the session. One time we practiced stuffing each other in the most unlikely spots on the track just to learn some different lines. It was a great way to learn.

Another disadvantage of racing is that I would go to WSMC for some practice and then a 6 lap race. I would maybe get an hour of track time?? At a track day I can spend hours on the track duking it out with friends and focus on a different skill every session. Plus, whoever is riding the fastest usually will slow it down a bit to let his/her buddy catch up (another great way to learn). In racing you either latch on or they're gone.

Don't get me wrong, when I get some coin I will be giving it my all to be on top of the podium in both CCS and WSMC. I have a major itch to do some racing so I can let it all out and see what happens when I actually push as hard as I can. Sometimes I think I'm riding a little too much on the cautious side thinking to much about not crashing. Until I get some $$$$$$ I will be riding track days only trying to hone every skill needed to own the race.

Looks like its going to be a January or Febuary start. Anyone down for a January start? Its cold but usually attendance is thin. Also if we start in January anyone who is still a novice will be able to sonest the Rookie of the yaer title when it starts in APril..

Ok who is down for January, and who wants to start Febuary?
