So a recent track day experience has lead me to question the sequentialness of duties whilst entering a turn. I'm grouping braking and downshifting together so please correct me if I'm wrong. However, do riders move off the seat first then brake/downshift before entering a turn? Or vice versa ... brake/downshift then move off the seat? I'm sure it's a matter of preference, but is there a right way and a better way? A few times in turn three (Big Willow) I broke, downshifted, somehow forgot to move off the seat and entered the turn. I think I was concentrating too much on the entry speed or I was braking too hard to realize I forgot to move off the seat ... not sure. But mildly uncomfortable not leaning into the turn.

i'm no pro but just by experience and watching them motogp gods, its all simultaneous... move, shift/brake, then lean...

Instead of concentrating on entry speed, work on technique. Once you can get everything down slowly, start picking up the pace.
You ask 10 pros how to do it, you will get 8 different answers. Like Marvin, I am far from being a pro but here is what I do:
As soon as I roll off the gas, I down shift, but I am very slow to let out the clutch. (I feather the clutch instead of blipping), so I start my breaking at the same time. Here is where I shift my weight and drop in the turn. In most turns, I trail break slightly so I am slowly letting go of the brake. By the time I apex, I am completly off the brake and starting to roll on the throttle.
I'm not all that fast bu o get my braking and shifting down then position my boday then accelerate thru the turn. If you moving under heavy breaking your upsetting the suspention and that is no bueno.
Just like you do not want to reposition your body mid turn because your upsetting the suspension.

I just suck at Multi tasking...
I brake and downshift at the same time.... then after I wipe the poop out of my pants... I move my butt off of the seat.

Well Im pretty new as well, but Aaron (lost) totally repeated what the instructers were teaching at 8-12 big track - and it makes sense.
Think about it: any shifting of weight while either turning or braking upsets your suspension - something that determines how smooth (and therefore how fast) you can get through a turn. Therefore you dont want to be shifting weight while either braking or turning.
And its pretty much a non-option to be hanging off your bike before youve even started braking... sooooo, logically you need to shift weight after braking but before turning.

You wouldn't have to wipe poop from your pants if you used an a$$ gasket, Chuckie.
