we were actually planning on leaving out from the Chevron at Greenfield (about 4 or 5 of us) and heading up to Banner. Maybe we can combine the rides (I do have a couple kinda newbies in ours) if ya want to.

Okay so I HAVE to go riding this weekend or else I am going to go crazy. I didn't really want to take her out until I got frame sliders on...but if we aren't going to go too fast than I guess I could push my luck. Keep us updated what you guys decide to do. Combine? Meet up? What?

Ummm so where is this Tavern rd??

GixerKat
08-23-2006, 07:38 AM
Tavern Rd is the exit before Viejas on the 8 east. It's the first Alpine exit. Once you exit there, go right and at the light on the right is the Circle K. Like I said, that's my back yard!!! I only live about 2 minutes up the mountain from there. Harbison Canyon and Japatul Valley Rds. are right near there too!!!

johnmessmore
08-23-2006, 10:35 AM
i like to go through crest to harbison canyon then alpine to japatul rd crest starts right off of greenfield :guitar:

GixerKat
08-24-2006, 08:13 AM
Yep!!!! Thats actually the reason we meet there. Once we hit the 8 at Japatul, do you want to go straight or hit the 8 east to Sunrise??? Either way works for me. Will 9 in the morning be early enough for you guys???

i think the ride is going to be a little later like 830 or 9.00 i would like to meet at the chevron on green field at 830 and then meet the rest of the group whats left of it at 900 at the circle k on tavern in alpine we definitly need to figure something out before sunday:cheers:

GixerKat

OK, I'll put that out to the group meeting at the Chevron.

This is what I posted on another board for the guys I'm bringing Sunday:

OK guys, slight change of plans. We meet at 8:30am (I know Bear it's early) and then do Crest and Harbison Canyon. We then meet some others at the Circle K in Alpine. From there we do Japatul Rd. and either up towards Julian to hit Sunrise or east on the 8 and hit Sunrise and head back towards Julian. From there, we hit Banner and then Julian for some PIE!!!!

For non-early birds....I'm riding out on 94E heading up to Julian. Going with 3 other riders. One being Captain G Force (Lee) who will probably be leading us since he knows the roads best from the four of us.

We'll be meeting in National City (South Bay) at 11am. Anyone wanna join? Post up and I'll check this thread tomorrow morning.

Wow I am sooooo excited and jittery still from all the technique and tips I learned from everyone today. It greatly improved my sense of what the bike can do, and where I'm at in turns.
My precious [my bike] and I would like to thank all those that gave me pointers today...

Hope we can ride again soon!
