 I went down hard at on the 1st of August, I suffered a head injury ( interal bleeding), was in ICU for 4 days. Luckily, all my limbs are ok. Just went back to work on Monday, I miss my bike. She's totalled so I won't be riding for awhile. Please wear your gears and don't go cheap on your lid.
I have a couple jackets and some stock parts for an 06 CBR600RR if anybody interested. Thanks.

Sheeeeeesh, I'm glad to hear you're still with us! Don't worry man, you'll get back on the saddle. Take the time to heal up properly.
I'm looking for a windscreen. :) Do you know if 06 fits 04?
What other parts do you have?

I don't think the 06 windscreen will fits the 04. I have the stock exhaust and stock turn signals and rear fender with signals.

What do you attribute your crash to? I'd like to hear your story and if you don't want to post here can you PM it to me? I'm an MSF instructor and always trying to find experiences whether good or bad.
good to hear you're ok... considering what could have been.

The last thing I remembered right before the crash was seeing a F250 truck hauling a trailer, I remembered seeing the trailer crossing over to my lane. I was unconscious for about 45 minutes. The paramedics got me up when I was almost at the hospital. According to the Highway Patrol no one else was involved in the accident. I still can't remember much about it. This all happened at Sunrise. My guess is that I reacted too much to the trailer coming over to my lane and wiped out.

Determining what went wrong and trying to find solutions out of problems we face on the road will help all of is become better riders. Thanks for sharing!

First off, glad to hear that you are OK. An intracranial bleed is a big deal- sounds like you beat the odds.
For the sake of others newbies like myself, if you're comfortable posting it, can you please comment about your gear. What were you wearing, how fast were you going (approx), and how did your gear hold up??
Some injuries are just not preventable, even with the best gear. However, it's nice to know what will stack the odds in our favor!
Get well.

Glad to hear you made it out with your life and all your limbs. Bikes can be replaced but arms or legs or life can't be. Since you got a lot of down time, what are your thoughts of riding again after a bad accident like that?

I was wearing jeans with Icon leg armor underneath, I had on Icon Legion jacke, Icon Legion helmet and was wearing Cortech gloves. The helmet was the only thing that I should have paid more for. I don't think I would have sustained the head injury if I was wearing a Shoei or Suomy helmet. As for speed, I was told by CHP that I was doing 75mph around the S curve with posted 35 mph. I don't believe that speed contributed to my crash.

If I have another bike I'd riding it now!!!! I'm more concern with how my wife feels about me riding again. As for me, this is the worst crash i've ever had but it won't stop me from riding. I'm looking to get a Ducati 749R next, as long as I convince my wife.

I had the EXACT same bike. I wrecked it 3 days after getting it up in ortega. I was passed by a racer, and went to the inside of a turn which left me on the outside of the next curve, and tried to stop, when I dumped it. The bike went over, I ate the pavement, fortunately I didn't go over, but I did seperate my shoulder. My bike was the same color, model, year, it is too ironic to read you post. I had a thread in the general corner describing mine. My problem was 1) new bike 2) beginner 3) wrong place for me to be. I had made it to the top and down, but on the second ride up the racer got in my loop, and that left me in a bad place. I am glad to hear you are ok, I know how you feel that was a sweet bike.

what's up everyone, i'm new to hypercycles but unfortunatley i didn't see this thread on ucsd and motorcycle theft or i wouldn't have taken and parked my bike there if i knew it was unsafe. i don't go to ucsd i just worked a banquet tonight and my bike got jacked from the Pangea Parking Garage 5th floor in the corner motorcycle parking. i got there at 5pm and parked behind a few scooters and another street bike locked the handlebars and went to work. came back at 9:30pm and discovered that those f'in bike theifs and jacked my cbr600RR all black with black windshield front flushmount turn signals and fender eliminater kit both clear lens. very minimal scratches on lower right fairing and crankcase as well as rear fender and broken right rear turn signal. my bike is on my avatar. if anyone see's or hears about it please call or email me. 619-757-4585 ricardoandtonielle@yahoo.com my name is ricky. please help me out and help my baby come back to me. thank you.

I see my old post was brought up again. Thanks to all of those who wished me well. I am great, already have a new one (same bike, color etc), and have 1000 miles on it. I was wearing a Scorpion Helmet. Had Joe Rocket Mesh Jacket on, and Alpine gloves. Jacket got a hole burned into it, Helmet was pretty scratched up.
Definately back in the saddle....
