i didn't see this anywhere in the forum, but besides looks, what other differences are there between the 600rr and 600 f4i? sorry if this seems like an idiot question, but i'm looking into bikes and i'm just trying to see which i should go for

Can you give us a little infor on how much experience and what type of riding you are into. The 600rr is a more capeable track weapon but the f41 is really comfy and good for longer rides.

i've had my license for about two years, but i do'nt ride much, just the occasional desert dirt bike ride w/ friends and their bikes. this would be the first bike i owned. i'm not too into the track thing, more for cruising and taking trips to la. i will admit, though, i'm prone to following the crowd; my group of friends who i ride w/ are getting new r6's, and i would want to be able to keep up w/ them when we go riding. i'm plan on getting a used bike cuz i can't afford a new one and i definetly do'nt want to down a brand new bike since i haven't ridden anything w/ this much power much

as far as power, they're both very capable bikes. for what you're describing, i'd go with the F4I. better ergos for commuting type riding

the F4i would be waaay more comfortable and it can keep up with all the brand new 600s

"keeping up" has little to do with the bike you choose and everything to do with experience level. I have a 1000cc sportbike and have been riding for years. I regularly get passed by guys on SuperMotards up on the mountain. On the outside. While I'm dragging knee.
Ok, well maybe not that bad, but still...

i have an f4i and love it. plenty power, handles great, and the ergonomics (riding position) is comfortable. the rr has a more aggressive riding position. it also feels lighter/ more balanced because of the build. its center of gravity is higher than the f4i which helps in different areas. ive had my f4i for over 4 years and thought about getting a rr, but am still on the i. one thing i really like about the i over the rr is that the pipe is a side mount- i like lookin at a fat carbon fibre exhaust can!

Actually the COG for the RR is forward and down from the f4i bro...sorry..that's right out of the honda brochure in 03.

Everyone thinks that the RR is just for the track...with the exceptions of the seat (trust me it sucks) the bike is just as capable of a touring our commuter as the F4i, i've owned both, i also feel like the RR oddly is a much more forgiving (handling wise) bike then the F4i...

Just my two cents...

Both are great bikes...but if you are thinking of getting into tracks or maybe racing later, give the RR a look too.

till you drag the can on the ground and almost highside yourself.

huh.... when i sat on a RR, it definately felt higher, maybe its the seat thats higher. i noticed it was much easier to swing side to side which also led me to believe that the COG is higher.

the things i like on the RR is that the weight is better distributed, the handle bars are under the triple crown- which puts the rider over the bike more, the higher tail section, and the aggressive front fairing.

not to get into dynamics and all but easier to swing would mean a lower center of gravity cause you can rotate the bike back and forth with less resistance and less weight to move.

no biggy...the seat is DEF much higher though...almost 2" i think..but the subframe even with the exhaust is considerably lighter than the tail section of the F4i.

Just don't get a new F4I they have banana seats. F4i's are good stunt bikes but thats about it if you ask me. I ride a RR everyday and its more comfortable to ride then an sv650s

You have an old 900RR which is not to be confused with the new CBR600RR. Those would not be more comfortable than an SV.
The F4i is a very capable bike and there are many supersport titles to prove it. Besides, if anyone can remember Galen that would ring a bell.

I'm just anti F4i thats all I think the front ends and the new seats are hideous. The 600rr's are tight! I've ridden an 04 600rr and I didn't get sore nearly as fast as I do on the sv during a comairable ride. My rr is a tank compared to the sv but somehow its still more comfortable.

When I rode my friend's 02 F4i, it wasn't as leaned forward, had slower throttle response, and it seemed like I had to move my foot farther to shift between gears. Riding my RR felt more lightweight and had better handling going into turns. Even though I had an 03 RR, I would have loved to have an F4i for commuting and cruising around:not so aggressive riding position, about the same power, and it's a reliable Honda.

Do not get an RR if you cherish your truck space!!!!!

I say get a 600RR because it looks and handles a lot better and you will be happier in the long run
